If you are still wondering why you need to be prepared for a disaster, please turn on your television or read the newspaper. If you don’t have access to either one of those please Google the words, disasters, hurricanes, wildfires, emergency preparedness or any other keyword that will enlighten you and your family to be prepared for the unexpected. Please do it today, not tomorrow. As you know I am not a doomsday prepper (meaning over the top preparedness person). I am a mom, a grandma, sister, and aunt who will become a mama bear to protect my family. But I can’t take care of everyone, period. We all must be prepared to take care of our ourselves and our loved ones. The government can’t be counted on to take care of you or your neighbors. We are responsible for ourselves. I have been in a preparedness mode my entire life, it’s a way of life for me. I read, research, make calls and visit companies who will help me teach the world to be prepared. I believe that God, hand picked me to teach the world to be prepared for the unexpected. Of course, I am not the only one he has chosen, but I know he chose me to teach the world to be prepared for emergencies.

Here’s the deal, I am not rich or wealthy, but I do live within my means and save my money to purchase items I will need for my family to survive every disaster, literally. I have been blessed by sponsors that have contacted me to show my readers items that every family needs. Now, you don’t need all of the items I write about, but you can choose the ones you feel are right for your family, your neighborhood location and weather conditions. I have always had a budget, a very strict budget my entire life. I can squeeze a nickel out of a penny, so to speak. I am self-reliant and I want to teach my readers that they can be self-reliant too. I am so grateful for comments from readers that have taught me things about how to be prepared. We can all learn from each other.

We need to be prepared:

I wish every family in the world had a copy of my book, Prepare Your Family For Survival by Linda Loosli! I will have a giveaway as often as my budget allows. Well, today I have a giveaway. Let’s each help teach the world to be prepared for a disaster, okay? I am so blessed that Page Street Publishing asked me to write this book. I mentioned to them I am not a professional writer, they said to me “we want an expert, and that is you”. Here again, God had his hand in this. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to those who have already purchased my book. It’s a family friendly book, no weapons are discussed in my book. I wanted my book to be a tool to teach classes about food storage and emergency preparedness. I wanted a child to be able to pick it up and learn the concept, “if you’re prepared you will not be fearful”.

This Prepare Your Family For Survival book giveaway is open to any resident who is 18 years of age or older who lives in one of the 48 US Contiguous States. This giveaway starts on Saturday, October 15th, 2016  at 5:15 am (MDT) and ends on Saturday, October 22nd, 2016 at 5:00 pm (MDT). Hi Linda, you had an article on putting water in 55 gal barrels and you gave the name of the stuff you put in the barrel to keep it good to drink. Also, how do you clean the barrels before you fill them? Thank you so much for all your articles.

    1. Linda Loosli says:

Hi Melba, I wash my barrels with a drop or two of bleach, not soap because it’s too hard to make sure the soap gets removed. I have a post today with the drops I use. They are called Water Preserver. Let me see if this link will work: https://foodstoragemoms.com//2016/10/need-keep-stored-water-safe/#more-57707

    2. Linda Loosli says:

Melba, let me know if you need help with the water preserver, Hugs! Linda
