Clove water, an infusion made by steeping cloves in water, has been highly talked about recently. There have been articles about the numerous health benefits of cloves. This aromatic spice, native to the Maluku Islands in Indonesia, has been used in traditional medicine around the world. As I get older, there are more natural approaches to maintaining good health that I’d like to take. Sometimes I take an olive oil supplement when I’m sick. I’m all for trying new things that promote a healthy lifestyle with limited risk, and I think there are many important benefits of clove water worth considering!

  • 2 Clove pieces or equal clove powder
  • 2 cups Water
  • Optional, add sliced limes or lemons
  1. You can add the cloves/or an equal amount of powder per the package you purchase) to warm/steamed water and drink it like a cup of tea.

  2. Another option is to set out a cup of water the night before and add 2 cloves to the water. You can warm it up or drink it at room temperature on an empty stomach.
