I love all these gift ideas!
Hi Jessica, thank you for your kind words, my sweet friend! Linda
My family knows that I love to receive kitchen “helpers”. I always ask for towels and dish cloths because I wash them a lot and they wear out quickly. My favorite dish cloths are sold in an Amish bulk food store a few miles from me. They wear like iron!
Hi Paula, oh, you are so lucky and blessed to be able to buy things made by the Amish! They know how to work and make things last. I also hear they do not take Vac ci n es and are so much healthier. I don’t know anyone who is Amish personally but I have been reading about them. I visited Pennsylvania year ago and shopped at Amish stores, what a treat. Oh and we had lunch there, what a wonderful vacation. Linda
I do have a friend who is a member of the Old Order Amish. She has a small shop on her family’s property and sells fabric and many kitchen tools and small items for the home. She doesn’t have electricity and uses a horse and buggy for transportation. I know that I haven’t told you that I’m Mennonite, however, we live a very modern life and I dress the same as the majority of people!
Hi Paula, oh my gosh, I love this! I believe I have some bread baskets made by a Mennonite family that signed the back of the baskets. I treasure those. I love love love hearing this, you must be a fantastic cook! I make dinner rolls all the time and I place the cloth covers that were handmade inside of them. I smile every time I bring those out! Linda
What a great list of potential gifts! Thank you, Linda. By the way, my son (a grown man of 40 nowadays) came up with some terrific dessert recipes for Thanksgiving this year. One was a “Dubai Chocolate Cheesecake” and the other was a “Pineapple Pecan Pie” – which was soooo incredible and not crazy sweet like a regular pecan pie. He said I was welcome to share those with you. I have both in pdf form if you’re interested. Just email me so I have a way to get them to you. It’s freezing here, so I hope it’s warmer where you are! Merry Christmas!
Hi Terry, oh thank you for your kind words, oh I would love those recipes! My email is [email protected]
That’s so nice he would share them with me! Thank you, what an honor, Linda
Really nice list. Some things were duplicated a few times just different materials, but a good list. I like how you gave packaging suggestions!
Also, maybe I’m doing it wrong, but why would anyone label something with chalk? It rubs off!!! Had it happen and had to throw out the contents as I had no idea what it was!!!
Hi, Linda! Recipes just got sent to you a few minutes ago. Sorry for the delay! Try them and share them! Merry Christmas to all!
Hi Terry, I got them and printed them, they look delicious!! Thank you! Linda
