Quick Release or Natural Release

Most recipes will tell you whether or not to use a natural release or the quick release on your Instant Pot®. However, if it doesn’t, here is how you can know:

Natural Release: This type of release is for tougher cuts of meat, recipes with high starch like rice or grains, or recipes that require a lot of liquid.

Quick Release: You will use the quick release for delicate cuts of meat, vegetables, seafood, chicken breasts, and steaming.

If you are using the quick release on your Instant Pot®, you will want to place a towel over the valve and use a wooden spoon to manually turn the valve from seal to vent. The towel will help prevent you from getting steam in your face.

What can I serve with these Brussel Sprouts?

Don’t know what to serve with these Brussel sprouts? I’ll make it simple for you! I have a few recipes that go great with this recipe. Of course, you can always serve the Brussel sprouts on their own!

How can I store these after cooking them?

As with anything that you make food-wise, you have to store it properly. I would recommend storing these Brussel sprouts in an airtight container. Once they are secured, you can place them in the fridge for around 3-5 days.

Can I freeze them?

I wouldn’t recommend it. Fresh is always best, in my opinion, when it comes to cooked veggies and cheese. If it comes down to it, you can always try and freeze a small batch to see how it turns out. Make sure you place them in a freezable container to keep the bacteria out.

  2. Your recipe for Brussels sprouts looks absolutely delicious! My husband is a huge fan of them but me – not so much. I sometimes begrudgingly cook & eat Brussels sprouts for him. BUT! Making these with cheese & sour cream? Yes please! We’re definitely going to try this recipe!
