The Best Slow Cooker Chicken Recipe

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

This slow cooker chicken recipe is a creamy mixture of chicken with cream cheese, shredded cheese, Ranch Dressing seasoning, and bacon.

I have been wanting to share this with you for months. You know the InstantPot or Air Fryers have been so popular to speed up making dinners for the family.

But I admit my slow cooker is still one of my favorite ways to make dinner. I love starting dinner in the morning and letting it cook while I write. Having a slow cooker makes dinner a breeze. You can smell it cooking during the day, in between laundry loads, right?

We basically set and forget the meal until dinnertime. I even put the rice cooker on the kitchen countertop so it’s ready for me to start the rice to go with it.

Kitchen Items You May Need:

The Ingredients

  • Chicken: I cut them in half so they fit better in the slow cooker.
  • Cream Cheese: cream cheese pulls the creaminess into the casserole.
  • Shredded Cheese: cheese adds that extra milky creaminess we love in a casserole.
  • Ranch Dry Dressing Mix: I love these little packets because I just sprinkle all the wonderful spices over the chicken pieces.
  • Bacon: we all know bacon adds that bacon flavor like no other meat to any dish, right?
  • Green Onions, the chopped green onions add that subtle onion flavor, not overly strong, but just enough flavor to make a difference.

Oooh, I know what I’m making for dinner tomorrow night! I have an air fryer AND an Instant Pot – never use either one of them. My slow cooker is my go-to for meals.

Hi Linda! I’ve made something similar to this and I love it every time! I serve the chicken on hamburger buns, like a pulled chicken sandwich. I’ve made it many times for when we have company on Sundays after morning church because it’s easy to do with the slow cooker. I like your idea of serving it over rice as that would give it more of a supper-feel. I will give that a try!!
