This easy pressure cooker pork loin dinner took about 60 minutes to cook. The meat was tender, juicy and moist.  It’s been about a year since I took the class from Chef Brad on using a Pressure Cooker. He showed the class how to use a Fagor and make mealtime a breeze. I have been using it to make beans, quinoa and so much more. One tip with the pressure cooker model I have, you must always have eight ounces of liquid when you use it. An Instant Pot works great too! I have both.

This is the finished product below. I am going to show you how easy it is to use this awesome kitchen tool today.

Pressure Cooker-How To Cook Dinner In One Hour:

This is the first step for me…put the onions on the bottom of the pan. You don’t need to spray vegetable oil to keep it from sticking.

Next I added the cut up potatoes and carrots on top of the onions.

After the veggies are placed inside the pan the meat goes on top. Don’t forget to add that very important ONE CUP of liquid. I used water in this recipe. For some additional flavor you could use a broth, whether chicken, beef or vegetable rather than just the plain water.

This is the Fagor pressure cooker I used today. I placed the lid on the top and twisted the lid until it “clicked”.  Turn the button on the top of the lid to PRESSURE. The buttons on the control panel on the front of the cooker are hard to read (in this picture), but you basically have buttons that say LOW on the left and HIGH on the right. I pressed the HIGH button until it said ” 60″ minutes to cook this fabulous pork loin dinner.  The next button you push is START! Easy peasy!  It beeps to let you know when it is finished cooking. Note that it takes a few minutes to build up the pressure in the cooker, so the actual time to cook is slightly longer than the 60 minutes mentioned.

When the cooking is complete you have to release the pressure in the cooker before taking the lid off.  I put a wash cloth over the steam after carefully turning the PRESSURE button to the STEAM button to release the steam.  The wash cloth helps protect your hands and face from the steam as it is being released.

See how tender the meat is, and remember, you have the vegetables on the bottom to make the meal complete. When we are pressed for time but still want a delicious dinner meal we pull out this pressure cooker and away we go. I particularly like how the meat is tenderized by the pressure cooker process.  Add to that the flavor of the other ingredients and you feel confident in a great meal every time.

I really wish every family could have one of these in their homes. So many young mothers are working and this would save them so much time. Let me know if you have a pressure cooker and how you use it. I would love to hear and share your ideas.
