  1. Great to have options for salad dressing since not everyone enjoys the same things, but I’ve found that I enjoy just using straight up balsamic or white balsamic vinegars as a salad dressing. Might be something to try since they are shelf stable and easier to store than some of the recipe ingredients….
Thanks for keeping these articles coming!

    1. Hi Dmwalsh, thank you for your kind words! I will for sure keep them coming! I love balsamic vinegar. I have not tried white balsamic though. I picked up some Black Cherry balsamic yesterday at an Olive Oil store. Yum! Linda

  2. We have a salad dressing we have made for years. It can be used as a cold slaw dressing or use
on top of a salad. There is very little ingredients.
    Miracle Whip
    sugar
    salt and pepper
A little milk to thin it out.
the amounts depends on your taste. I make it in a small bowl or cup and just enough for my salad. have used this for years. I like that you can use the low fat Miracle whip or sometimes I add dill to it.

    1. I make a similar recipe with Miracle whip but I don’t put sugar in because my husband in fact the whole family is diabetic. I just mix miracle whip with some whipping cream or milk to thin it a little because my family does not like thick dressings and I add a little black & white pepper and a little salt. It is one of the things I can send to church (coleslaw with purple and green cabbage and I think I made enough to take some home for the family and I may have a tablespoon left after the church supper.

      Linda:
Do you have a recipe for Russian Dressing? My family likes ranch dressing or my husband will make a vinegar and oil dressing on his salad. I will try the Ranch dressing so it does not cost so much to make.

  3. I admit to taking the low cost, easy to store, less likely to go bad. Good Seasonings dressings, after two bottles of dressing went bad on us. We are not fancy eaters. Croutons, tomatoes, cucumbers, shredded cheese, sometimes corn salsa.

  4. I’ve been using the spice packages made for salad dressings at the store because if you look at the ingredients on the bottle dressings, you will see most, if not all of them have little or no olive oil in them. So I use a good brand of olive oil, and vinegar to make it, knowing what really is in my dressing. Sometimes I add a little mustard, or buttermilk to change it up a little. Thanks for this list. I will look through it, and will try a few.

    1. Hi Mark, oh my goodness, now I want to go to the store and look at the bottles!! I love freshly made salad dressing. I’m with you I need a good olive oil for the base. Linda
