  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup raw bacon, cut into bite-size pieces
  • salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. Grab a large frying pan and sauté the bacon and onions until the onions are translucent. Add the radish pieces to the frying pan on top of the bacon and onions. Cook until tender. Salt and pepper to taste.

Can I cook these in my oven?

Yes, you can. Just preheat your oven to 425 degrees. Grease a 9 by 13-inch pan. Spread the radishes evenly over the bottom of the pan. Drizzle olive oil (because the bacon will be added later) over the onions and radishes.

Add some cooked bacon at the last minute before you serve this yummy dish. Bake for 30-45 minutes, or until the desired doneness is achieved.

Can I sprinkle this dish with some cheese?

I love these cooked radishes with a little grated parmesan cheese. Cheese is allowed on the low carb or Keto diet, so you can load up if you choose! Cheese is truly a great way to ensure meals taste even more savory.

What are the benefits of eating radishes?

The benefits of eating radishes are amazing. Even though radishes may not be as popular as potatoes, that is going to change. Radishes are so full of vitamins and minerals. Vitamins A, C, and E are in radishes. You will also find B6 and potassium.

What do cooked radishes taste like?

Now, some people will tell you that cooked radishes taste like uncooked radishes, which many people think are gross. Give these Sautéed Radishes a try and you will find that they taste just like potatoes, only better and without the guilt. I believe that it depends on your taste buds and what you enjoy eating. Don’t pass up giving these cooked radishes a try.

Final Word

I truly hope you enjoy these Sautéed Radishes. In a season of life where a lot of people have to watch what they eat, this meal is healthy and affordable. You don’t have to skimp on flavor whenever you’re watching those carbs. Even if you aren’t on a low carb or Keto diet, you’ll enjoy this meal. May God bless this world, Linda

  1. Good Morning Linda. After reading this article, I just have to ask. Have you gone Keto? This dish is soooo good. I’ve been doing it for a while now, and for those who haven’t tried it, you really need to. I also add quartered radishes to pot roast, stews and soup. Once you have tried them, you really do feel you are eating potatoes. I’ve been Keto (LCHF) for about 3 years now and love how much better I feel after giving up carbs and sugar. I’m fat adapted so occasionally I will grab a burger if I’m out and in a hurry. Problem is, while it does taste great, I feel aweful from all the carbs and hidden sugars. Have a great day, I’m watching it snow huge flakes this time. This is going to be a very snowy week for us here. Thanks for all your great ideas and recipes!

    1. Hi Pam, I have not gone keto although I see it all over FaceBook with people going carnivore (holding a steak)!! I am trying to cut carbs and sugar. I’m glad to hear you feel healthy! That is awesome. I have only seen extreme people eating Keto on Facebook. It’s almost like obsessed, I’m happy for them but would like to hear from non-extremists like you. Thanks for the tip on Keto! I love hearing your thoughts! Linda

  2. I don’t know whether we are truly “Keto,” but since metformin didn’t agree with DH (and has nasty side effects), I’ve had to deal with his T2D with diet. This will be another to add to the arsenal–who couldn’t love something with bacon and onions??? Thank you! DH says he doesn’t like radishes, so I haven’t ever raised more than what I could eat straight out of the garden–but I’ll just say no more and just tell him it’s bacon and onions… 🙂

    I *do* miss baking bread…

    1. Rhonda and Linda, I’m going to answer you both. For really good yeast keto bread go to: #1 Gnom-Gnom.com for her bread recipe. Also, she bakes at high altitude so her recipes are adjusted and you don’t have to figure out what to do with what ingredient. I’m at 9,000 ft. Yeah. #2 Look at Keto King for his recipe for yeast bread. He has two different ways of cooking it, bread machine or oven. Both reciPpes are on YouTube, but you can write recipe down and watch video on how to do it. A FaceBook friend just made this recipe and it looks and tastes just like “real” bread. Good luck Ladies!
